MOSFET RDS(on) and thermal path: RFQ checklist
Specifying channel resistance at the gate drive you use, and the thermal metrics that map from junction to your board—not only the headline RDS(on) row in the datasheet summary.
At the right VGS
RDS(on) is quoted at specific gate-source voltages; logic-level FETs behave differently at 4.5 V versus 10 V drive. Match the value to your driver and undervoltage lockout margins.
Thermal documentation
Use RθJC with your heatsink model, or RθJA only with the vendor’s stated copper area. State airflow and ambient if the application is not nominal.
