Schottky versus standard rectifiers on secondary rails
When low forward drop and reverse leakage trade-offs drive rectifier choice for auxiliary supplies—and what to document on the RFQ so the correct family is quoted.
Electrical fit
Schottky devices reduce conduction loss but exhibit higher leakage with temperature; standard and fast-recovery diodes differ in recovery time and noise. Package and thermal resistance must match the pad and heatsink path assumed in your design.
RFQ checklist
- Peak and average forward current
- Maximum reverse voltage including transients
- Operating temperature range at the junction
